This is locally homemade laundry soap that contains three ingredients unless we use an additive of your choice such as an essential oil or your favorite laundry soap.With homemade laundry soap your clothing will smell fresh and fragrance free they will not be coated in chemicals designed to make your laundry smell like a mountain spring or a summer breeze they will be toxin free.The difference between soap and detergent is Detergent is a chemical substance while soap is simple one of a kind detergent,Detergents are more likely to be a mixture of synthetic chemicals and additives cooked up in a huge chemical plant,and unlike traditional soap the most important ingredient in detergents are chemicals call surfactants and they are't the only things in detergents,look at any bottle of detergent you will see lots of other chemicals listed,like optical brighteners and active ingredients called enzymes and then there are the perfumes,Surfactants play a crucial part in helping water to attack and remove dirt,but once they are flushed away down the drain surfactants don't stop working they start to play similar tricks on water life, which can be toxic to fish and other wildlife some are even listed as persistent organic pollutants or POPS these remain in the environment for many years without breaking down.When phosphates in detergents enter fresh water they act as fertilizer promoting growth of tiny plants and animals the problem with is they cause a huge growth of algae known as algal bloom which kills fish life by reducing oxygen.Although phosphates enter water in many different ways detergents contribute significantly to the problem and remember phosphates is what makes your laundry water soapy or sudsy because there is no phosphates in homemade laundry soap you won"t have suds in the water.The factory made scents that brand detergents contain they have nothing to do with the cleaning power of the detergent,Those scents are made from a concoction of chemicals.Consider you and your family are clothed day and night and all night long your faces are pressed up against pillow cases and sheets with brand detergents your inhaling harmful toxins 24 hours a day a day not to mention our skin is our largest organ and a absorbent one at that so the chemical residue that coats your clothing and bedding(yes if you can smell it its there)is in contact with your skin 24 hours a day as well.So how many loads does homemade soap do?A front loader uses 1/4 cup per load A top loader uses 1/2 cup per load on average,Therefore with a front loader you will get approximately 370 loads out of a 5 gallon bucket which we sell also with a top loading machine you will get 160 loads out of a 5 gallon bucket depending on how much you use.Let's look at the cost per load for homemade laundry soap,for front loading machines homemade laundry soap cost less than 4 cents per load and the top loading machines cost less than 8 cents per load.Homemade laundry soap is an easy way to save if your a student a young family on a budget or anyone looking to reduce your living expenses.
